Forewings 1.9 times longer than wide, length in male about 3.9 mm . Colour stramineous; facial carinae in front of eyes orange; a central, faintly orange mark on frons and base of clypeus; a red stripe across base of scutellum; fore tibiae and tarsi faintly orange; middle and hind femora with faint orange marks. Forewings glassy; faintly infuscated from apex of Cu to base of Ms1, around base of Ms2, and along apical crossveins; last subcostal sector accompanied by red; veins stramineous, but following veins orange-red: middle and apical parts of costa, last subcostal sector, apices of Sc and Cu, cross-veins between Sc and R, apical crossveins, hind margin near clavus tip, as well as veins around Sc+R fork, bases of Ms1, Ms2, and Ms3. Hindwings colourless. In profile, junction of vertex and face slightly angulated. Forewings with a broad basal median cell. Male genitalia with pygofer narrow. Genital styles oval; proximal dorsal process wide, the short, pointed tip curved inwards; distal dorsal process long and slender. Stem of aedeagus swollen in apical half; apical portion of aedeagus short and narrow with a dorsal, longitudinal groove, lacking any processes or lobes. Etymology . The species name is a Latin adjective ( saucius, -a, -um = wounded). Type material. Holotype (forewing 3.9 mm ), EAST MALAYSIA : NORTH BORNEO: SABAH ; labels: 1) BRITISH N. Saccharodite saucia is related to the large group of Saccharodite species which have in profile a slightly angulated junction of vertex and face, broad forewings (with a broad basal median cell), and a broad proximal dorsal process on the male genital styles (e.g. Sa. kagoshimana (Matsumura) or Sa. imperiali Zelazny , both also found in Borneo). It is characterized by the red stripe across the scutellum base and by the very simple apical portion of the male aedeagus.
