Other significant reference: Clay (1959: 165 , 167). Material examined: 1 male and 1 female (1 sample, MONZ ). Remarks: This is the first record of Austromenopon spenceri from the Galápagos Islands. Currently, Phalaropus lobatus is the only host of this louse species ( Price et al. 2003: 92 ), and is a very common visitor to the Galápagos Islands ( Harris 1989: 107 ).
