Remarks.
The most recent taxonomic work on the family was by
Mašán (2017)
, who comprehensively revised the generic concepts and morphological attributes of this family.
A
.
corbiculus
was described from British Isles in moss (
Sowerby, 1806
), and has been recorded from Europe,
England
and
China
(
Mašán, 2017
). It is now recorded in
Kazakhstan
for the first time, from soil.
Mašán (2017)
designated a
lectotype
of
A
.
corbiculus
, and synonymised
Ameroseius norvegicus
with
A
.
corbiculus
. Our specimens agree very well with the description given by
Narita
et al
. (2015)
(for
A
.
norvegicus
), also with modifications presented by
Mašán (2017)
for this species.
Ameroseius corbiculus
is easily recognised by the 29 pairs of stout and robust setae, long enough to reach the base of the next posterior setae, seta
j1
flat, broad and serrate (
Fig. 1
) and five pairs of setae on the opisthogastric soft integument (
JV4
absent) (
Fig. 2
).
