Type :— BRAZIL . Minas Gerais : Paracatu , Saint-Hilaire s.n. ( lectotype , designated here , P! [ P 02142940 ] ; isolectotype P! [ P 02142939 ]) . The original material of L. rufescens is preserved in P where Saint-Hilaire worked ( Stafleu & Cowan 1976 –1988: 1064). It is represented by two duplicates, neither of which is mentioned in the protologue. Therefore, according to Art. 9.3 of the ICN, we designate herein specimen P 02142940 as the lectotype of L. rufescens by choosing the most complete specimen and one that best represents the protologue’s description. Based on Schumann (1886) , Burret (1926) and the present study, the application of the name L. rufescens is confirmed as an accepted species.
