Xizicus
(
Eoxizicus
)
dentatus
sp. nov.
(
Fig. 2
)
Description. Male.
Body small for the tribe
Meconematini
. Fastigium verticis conical, apex obtusely rounded, with a longitudinal shallow sulcus on dorsum. Eyes oval. Apical segment of maxillary palpi slightly longer than subapical one, apex slightly swollen.
Pronotum short (
Fig. 2A, B
), anterior margin straight, posterior margin obtusely rounded, posterior transversal sulcus distinct; lateral lobe (
Fig. 2B
) of pronotum gently higher than long, humeral sinus shallow.
Fore coxae with a short spine; inner and outer sides of fore tibiae with 5 spines on each side of ventral surface; tibial tympana open on both sides. Both sides of ventral surface of middle tibiae with 5
–
6 spines. Hind tibiae with 23
–
26 spines on inner and outer sides of ventral surface, and with two pairs of ventral apical spurs and one pair of dorsal apical spurs.
Tegmina elongate and narrow, surpassing apices of hind femora, apices rounded; hind wings longer than tegmina.
Posterior margin of 10th abdominal tergite with one pair of short posterior processes (
Fig. 2H
). Cerci short, moderately bent inwards (
Fig. 2G, H
), inner margin thin, lamellate, tapering, with a fine keel; basal area with inner margin extending, flattened; ventral margin of basal area with a depressed dentate-shaped process; apices obtusely rounded. Subgenital plate with base broad, apical area narrow, posterior margin straight or slightly concave; with a pair of conical styli inserted laterally and apically.
Coloration.
Body light yellowish brown, probably green when alive. Eyes brown. Disc of pronotum with one pair of indistinct light brown longitudinal stripes, of which color becoming darken at posterior area. Genicular lobes of hind femora with apices black brown, spines of hind tibiae brown. Cells of fore wings with light brown spots.
Female.
Ovipositor moderately curved upwards (
Fig. 2F
), apices of dorsal and ventral valvulae acute. Subgenital plate triangular, the centres of lateral margins concave inwards (
Fig.
2I
), posterior margin concave in the middle.

Discussion.
The new species resembles
Xizicus
(
Eoxizicus
)
magnus
(Xia & Liu, 1993)
, but differs in the following: posterior margin of male 10th abdominal tergite with distinct posterior processes, basal area of cerci with a compressed dentate process on ventro-inner margin of the base.
Etymology.
The name of the new species is derived from dentate process on ventro-inner margin of basal area of male cerci. Latin “
dentatus
” means dentate.
