Diagnosis . Pale ochraceous species with brownish punctation and faded, irregular spots at humeral angles. Among the Germalus species distributed in the region G. costalis is the only one which has no remarkable band-like decoration laterally. Eyes moderately erect in lateral view. Pronotum with elongate impunctate spots near humeral angles. Corial margin of clavus completely punctate, punctation at basal half regular, dense, becoming sparser and irregular in apical half. MTSEA with ostiole of irregular shape, elongated; vestibular scar well-defined, reaching nearly metathoracic dorsum; peritremal surface oblong, curved, reaching approximately 2/3 of metapleurite. Distribution . Known as endemic to Marquesas Islands .
