Remarks.
As we predicted in our previous paper (
Sychra
et al.
2007
)
Myrsidea
lice from this host represented a unique species that was subsequently described as new by
Price
et al.
(2008)
. Since our specimens collected from the
type
host differ a little from the original description of
M. lightae
, we mention these differences here [setal counts and dimensions mentioned by
Price
et al.
(2008)
are in parentheses]:
Male (n = 2)
. Mean length of head seta 10, 0.055 (n=3); seta 11, 0.107 (n=3); ratio10/11, 0.52. Metanotal margin with 11–13 (13–19) setae. Tergal setae: I with a continuous row of setae, all other tergites with a well-defined median gap in the rows of setae; III, 17–22 (18–22); IV, 17–22 (16–20); VI, 17–22 (16–20); VII, 17–22 (15–20). Sternal setae:
II 7–8
(9–14) anterior; IV, 38 (39–46); VI, 24–28 (36–41); without medioanterior setae. Dimensions: HL, 0.28–0.31 (0.31–0.33); GL, 0.49–0.50 (0.46–0.49); GW, 0.13; GSL, 0.09.
