Taraxacum plovdivense
Doll (1978: 629
, Plate LXXI), described as a member of
T.
sect.
Erythrocarpa
Type indication:—“Typus:
Holotypus
im h Doll / Locus typicus:
Plovdiv
, Wegrand. 9. 7. 76. Doll“; also Plate LXXI: „
Taraxacum plovdivense
Doll
sp. nov.
–
Holotypus
”
.
Type
:—
Plovdiv
, Wegrand.,
9 Jul 1976
,
R
. Doll
[as
Taraxacum plovdivense
sp. nov.
] (
JE
, no. det. 9164,
holotype
)
.
Specimens of the
OM
:—
A
single specimen of the
OM
corresponds to the Plate LXXI (
Doll 1978
) and consists of a plant with flowers (pollen irregular in size), and a part of the same rosette and a few fragments and achenes in an envelope. It is not possible to interpret this name on the basis of an extremely late, not well preserved specimen.
Conclusion:—The name
T. plovdivense
is left without interpretation, as a
nomen damnabile
. It does not belong to
T
.
sect.
Erythrocarpa
, otherwise its sectional position remains unclear.
