REMARKS. The
Taphurini
are characterized by the head being wider than the maximum width of the pronotum, subquadrate pronotum that is not distinctly narrowed anteriorly, pronotal lateral margins are not developed or dilated, the male opercula curve towards the abdominal midline but remain widely separated and are small, narrow, and do not cover the tympanal cavity, the abdomen is about as long as the distance between the apex of the postclypeus and the posterior of the cruciform elevation, timbals do not extend below wing bases, uncus is absent but anal tube may possess lateral lobes, the upper pygofer lobe small and unsclerotized, and the basal lobes of pygofer large and ornamented, especially in
