Description: Length 32–45 µm, width 5–7 µm (middle of the valve), striae 8–9 in 10 µm. Ecology and distribution: A widely distributed marine and brackish-water species, recorded from the Arctic and from the tropics ( von Quillfeldt 2000 ). It has not been previously observed in Potter Cove. Frequent in the material examined.
