In the northern GOM, this species is distributed from the north western Florida coast to the Texas/ Mexico border in approximately 370 to 915 m of water. First Record in GOM. The description of this species ( Bigelow and Schroeder 1958 ) was based on a single individual (USNM 156713, Figure 11 ) collected aboard the RV Oregon from the northeastern GOM in 1957. Remarks. This is a deep water species that is rarely captured and, therefore, little is known of their biology. Conservation Status. Data Deficient
