New
synonymy.
Newly established junior synonyms of
Thaumasia velox
.
The epigynum of the female
type
specimen of
T. annecta
is identical to
T. velox
. The juvenile
types
of
T. decemguttata
present a wide lateral band formed by short white bristles on the lateral area of carapace and abdomen, as the specimens of
T. velox
(
Fig. 6
).
Diagnosis.
The males of
T. velox
resemble those of
T. scoparia
in the shape of the median apophysis (
Figs 144, 145
), but can be distinguished by the short and ventrally curved tip of the ental branch of RTA (
Figs 58, 59
) and also by the lamellar base of EnB (
Fig. 59
). The females of
T. velox
resemble those of
T. caxiuana
sp. nov.
(
Fig. 92
),
T. senilis
(
Fig. 26
),
T. caracarai
sp. nov.
(
Fig. 119
) by the general shape of middle field of epigynum (
Fig. 60
), but can be distinguished by the slightly excavated lateral portion of the middle field (
Fig. 60
) and by the rounded and thickned border of the copulatory duct 2 (
Fig. 61
) and by the short and rounded head of spermathecae (
Fig. 62
).
