Thalestrella obscura
comb. nov.
occurs sympatrically with
T. pulchra
comb. nov.
at the
type
locality. It differs from the latter by the absence of well developed denticulodigitate hyaline frills on the abdominal somites and the inner seta on P1 exp-2, and by the presence of a tuft of very long setules on the male antennary allobasis near the articulation with the exopod, and only five elements on the female P5 exopod.
