TYPE LOCALITY : Ecuador , Guaranda. TYPE : Syntype , leg. Haensch, May 1899 ( BMNH ). DISCUSSION : Scea semifulva , from southwestern Ecuador , occurs in sympatry with S. curvilimes (pl. 34). A third species from southern Ecuador , S. cleonica (pl. 34), occurs on the eastern versant. Scea semifulva differs from both in that it is slightly smaller (FW length 5 16.0–17.5 mm, as compared with 17.0–20.0 mm), and its orange FW triangle is smaller, its outer margin falling short of the discocellular veins. Scea semifulva is well represented in museum collections, but the number of specimens in each is small. The moth was reared by T. Ghia (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador , Quito) in 1995 on Passiflora manicata (table 6). DISTRIBUTION : Ecuador (AMNH, BMNH, CMNH, CUIC, MNHN, PUCE, USNM, ZMH).
