In the protologue, five gatherings, Wilson 1266 , 1281 , 3005 , 4092 , and 4114 , from Sichuan were cited and none of them was indicated as the holotype , therefore all are syntypes . Among them, Wilson 3005 is a flowering gathering and others are fruiting specimens. Koehne (1913) indicated that this species differs from the related species in the leaflets and inflorescence. Therefore, the flowering specimen of Wilson 3005 at A (A-00046050) is designated as the lectotype .
