The genus Anarsia Meyrick (Lepidoptera, Gelechiidae) in Laos, with description of a new species and ten new records of the genus Author Park, Kyu-Tek Author Bae, Yang-Seop text Zootaxa 2018 2018-03-21 4399 2 272 280 journal article 30454 10.11646/zootaxa.4399.2.10 7f14d42f-d78a-4273-869d-c1317e2e6516 1175-5326 1206542 37428753-B004-492B-B2D3-B2D25C08368B Anarsia ovula Park & Ponomarenko, 1996 ( Figs. 9, 9a–b, 10, 10a–c ) Anarsia ovula Park & Ponomarenko, 1996 : 44 ; Ponomarenko, 2009 : 348 . TL: Thailand, Chiang Mai. Diagnosis. This species is superficially similar to A. simplicampa Park which was described from Vietnam , but the male genitalia differ from those of the latter by the shorter uncus, the basal process of the left valva shorter and strongly bent from near base, distal part of right valva larger and ovate, and the phallus strongly curved basally. Male genitalia ( Figs. 10, 10a ): The male genitalia illustrations provided by Park & Ponomarenko (1996, Figs. 37–41) with their description are line drawings, thus photos are provided here for more details. In their description, the socius is broad and the distal part of valva is quadrate, but the socius of the specimens from Laos is more or less elongate and the distal part of valva ovate with convex dorsally. These differences are probably due to the different orientation of the parts in the process of dissection. The abdominal sternite VIII is deeply concaved medially on caudal margin ( Fig. 11 ).
