Type material (1, MNHN ): Lectotype male with labels: “Pery Pery / ( Bresil )” “ type ” “ reductus / n sp” “ Holotype ” “ Holotype / Bruchus / reductus / Pic” “ Sennius / reductus / (Pic) / det. 78 / J. The specimen received from MNHN has Pic’s handwritten label " type " and " reductus n sp" and the locality is the same as quoted in the original description ( Brésil ). Although Kingsolver has attached a label of holotype , Pic (1930) does not indicate the number of specimens studied and the specimen is designated as lectotype . This species is here treated as Sennius reductus (NEW COMBINATION) due mainly by the characters hind femur with one tooth at inner ventral margin and internal sac of male genitalia with hinge sclerites.
