Taxonomic note.
The female holotype of
Sciara glacialis
Ruebsaamen
was studied by the senior author and identified as a junior synonym to
Camptochaeta consimilis
(Holmgren). More detailed information will be presented in a separate publication about the
Sciara
species described by
Ruebsaamen
(1898)
.
Ecological note.
Bird cliffs; in mosses, lichens and
Salix
plants; on
Cerastium alpinum
,
Salix polaris
and
Cassiope
; on shingly raised beaches with
Dryas
; among stones; on bare rocks (all Svalbard records). Phenology: Jun.-Aug.
