Remarks.
WEISE (1921)
described
Metriona obnubilata
from a single specimen and compared it to
M. glaucovittata
(
Erichson, 1847
)
.
BOROWIEC (1989)
transferred it to
Charidotella
Weise, 1896
and the taxon was listed only in catalogues (see
BOROWIEC 1999a
). The
holotype
has a pattern on the underside of elytra forming lateral stripe on each elytron and a band across elytra in their basal third. It also has subangulate humeral angles, a diffuse brownish pattern on pronotal disc and the specimen is conspecific with the
holotype
of
C. fumosa
.
Metriona obnubilata
is thus synonymized with the latter species.
BOHEMAN (1855)
did not state exactly how many specimens he had at his disposal. However, based on the original description and the single length measurement, I assume he had only one.
