This species was collected once in an old, dried wash northeast of MDRS, and photographed in the vicinity of the Burpee Dinosaur quarry at the northern end of Cow Dung Road (Fig. 40). Varieties in B. barbata are recognized by both Wipff (2005) and Welsh et al. 1993 . The latter treatment asserts that all Utah plants to belong to var. barbata .
