Lower part of metopial proboscis, postclypeus, excluding upper part, and anteclypeus light yellow or brown. Upper part of postclypeus, metope between lateral and sublateral keels, and upper part of proboscis, from dark brown to black. Metope between sublateral keels, coryphe, pronotum, scutellum between lateral keels, and anal tube brownish yellow. Lateral parts of pronotum and scutellum and fore wings dark brown. Sternites of pro- and mesothorax light yellow or dark brown. Claval margin of fore wings and median line of abdominal tergites with wide brownish yellow stripe. Abdominal tergites, excluding median line, dark brown, with pair of dark or black lateral stripes. Abdominal sternites dark brown or black, with wide brownish yellow median line, sternite VII entirely brownish yellow. Lateral margins of tergites and sternites light yellow or brown. Hind episternae dark brown or black. Fore and middle coxae and trochanters and hind trochanters light yellow or brown. Hind coxae light yellow or dark brown. Legs from light yellow to brown, with dark brown stripes and spots. Apices of spines of legs black. Gonoplacs dark brown, each with large light yellow spot. FIGURES 45–50. The species name is derived from Latin “ cuneus ”—wedge-shaped, referring to the shape of the metopial proboscis.
