Relation to host.
Vagrant on leaf undersurface, causing no apparent damage.
Etymology.
The specific designation
longyuwanis
is from the locality where the host plant and the new species were collected, Longyuwan.
Remarks.
This species is similar to
Rhyncaphytoptus papyriferae
Xue & Hong, 2005
, but can be differentiated by the following: prodorsal shield design with median line connected with admedian lines by a transverse line at 1/2 anterior (median line not connected with admedian lines in
R
.
papyriferae
), coxal area with short lines (coxal area with granules in
R
.
papyriferae
), tarsal solenidion knobbed (tarsal solenidion tapered in
R
.
papyriferae
).
