TYPE LOCALITY: Rondani gave no type locality in his original description but presumably it is Parma (Italy) because he referred to observations made by himself and E. Berté (from Parma ). TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂ , lectotype (with puparium, dissected) ( MZUF : Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / bursaria Rnd. , [illegible words] … in galle ulmi / 1818 / Lectotypus Leucopis bursaria Rondani det. G. Morge, Ex. 15 [not designated] / Lectotypus Leucopis ( Leucopis ) bursaria Rondani, 1847 [ sic !], A. Raspi det. PARALECTOTYPE NOT EXAMINED: 1 ♂ ( MZUF : Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / bursaria Rnd. , [illegible words] … in galle ulmi / 1818 / Syntypus Chamaemyia bursaria (Rond.) , det. G. Morge, Ex. 16. CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Tanasijtshuk 1984: 226 , Nartshuk et al. 1995: 7 , Raspi 2003: 101 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1848a: 437) described Leucopis bursaria from two specimens received from E. Berté who reared them from larvae mining the leaves of the black poplar Populus nigra Linnaeus, 1753 . Raspi (2003: 105) designated a lectotype ( ) but did not mention an additional male in the MZUF numbered “1818” (this additional specimen is a paralectotype ).
