PARALECTOTYPE NOT EXAMINED: 1 specimen (sex not determinable, missing abdomen and both hind-legs) ( OUMNH : Verrall-Collin Coll.): Type / L. maculata Ex. Coll. Big. / Loxocera maculata ♀ Italia , Rond. / Loxocera Mg . CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Soós 1984a: 33 , Nartshuk et al. 1995: 4 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1876d: 193) described Loxocera maculata without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens, but he presumably had more than one specimen because he reported: “ non infrequens [not rare]”. Soós (1982b: 157) designated a lectotype ( ♀ ) and paralectotypes ( 2 ♀♀ ) but did not mention an additional OUMNH specimen, sex not determinable (this additional specimen is a paralectotype ).
