CURRENT STATUS: nomen dubium in Polleniinae ( Schumann 1986: 50 ) ; junior synonym of Pollenia vagabunda ( Meigen, 1826 ) ( Rognes 1991a: 365 , Pape et al. 1995: 10 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1862d: 198) described Pollenia pulvillata from a few males: “ Mares tantum nonnullos legi [I collected only a few males]”. Rognes (1991a: 365) designated a lectotype ( ♂ ) and paralectotypes ( 2 ♂♂ ) and reported that one of the males he identified as Pollenia angustigena Wainwright, 1940 “may not belong to the original syntypic material”.
