K. Rognes , 1990 . PARALECTOTYPE EXAMINED: 1 ♀ (not a male as Rondani reported) (abdomen, hind- and right mid-legs glued to a cardboard stage pinned below a microvial containing the ovipositor and sternites 1–5) ( MZUF : Box 21): Pollenia Desv. / ruficrura Rond. , / 1106 / lectotype , Pollenia ruficrura Rondani, 1862 , des. K. Rognes , 1990 . CURRENT STATUS: nomen dubium in Polleniinae ( Schumann 1986: 50 ) ; valid species, as Pollenia ruficrura ( Rognes 1991a: 366 , 1991b: 451 , Pape et al. 1995: 10 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1862d: 202) described Pollenia ruficrura from two males : “ Mares duo tantum lecti [collected only two males ]”. Rognes (1991a: 456) designated a lectotype ( ) and paralectotype ( ) and stated that: “In Rondani’s collection (MZUF) are two conspecific females under the name ruficrura both numbered 1106. They fit the original description [except for the sex] and obviously constitute the syntypic series” (1991a: 453).
