TYPE LOCALITY: “ Insula Bonae Fortunae ( Borneo ) , Provincia Sarawak [ Bona Fortuna Island, Sarawak Province, Borneo]” ( Rondani 1875c: 421 ). TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀ , lectotype ( MSNG ): Borneo, Sarawak , 1865/1866, Coll. Doria / Typus / zonalis Rond. / Senopterina zonalis n° 22. PARALECTOTYPES NOT EXAMINED: 1 ♀ ( MSNG ): Borneo Sarawak 1865/1866 Coll. Doria ; 2 ♀♀ ( MZUF : Box 72): Sarawakia zonalis Rnd., Borneo / Borneo, Sarawak , 1865–66, Coll. G. Doria / [no identification number ]. CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Plagiostenopterina trivittata (Walker, 1849) ( Steyskal 1977e: 147 ) . REMARKS: Rondani (1875c: 430) described Senopterina zonalis from just the female sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, despite there being four specimens in the type series found in this study, from material collected by G. Doria and O. Beccari. Guiglia (1957: 196) reported a “ holotype ” ( ) in the MSNG without knowing of an additional three females syntypes , one in the MSNG and two in the MZUF, which brings the original type series to four specimens . In his original description, Rondani did not explicitly refer to a single specimen, therefore Guiglia’s “ holotype ” specimen must be considered as the lectotype (I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 74.6). The additional three females not examined by Guiglia (two in the MSNG and one in the MZUF) are paralectotypes .
