TYPE LOCALITY: “ Insula Bonae Fortunae ( Borneo ) , Provincia Sarawak [ Bona Fortuna Island , Sarawak Province , Borneo ]” ( Rondani 1875c: 421 ) . TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂ , holotype ( MSNG ): Sarawak / Typus / scapularis Rond. / Musca scapularis n° 18. CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Musca conducens Walker, 1859 ( Pont 1977: 456 , Thompson & Pont 1994: 118 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1875c: 428) described Musca scapularis from just the male sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths, from material collected by G. Doria and O. Beccari. Guiglia (1957: 195) and Raineri & Rey (1996: 43) reported the holotype ( ) in the MSNG.
