REMARKS:
Rondani (1868c: 240)
described
Sapromyza luteiventris
without specifying the
number
, the sex or the length of the specimens, but presumably from more than
one specimen
because he reported: “
non infrequens
[not rare]”. Seven
syntypes
were found in this study. An additional
five males
and
one female
in the
MZUF
numbered “1550” are not included in the type series because their labels are yellowish rather than the greenish color of Rondani’s original handwritten ones and are in a lower row in the Box, for which reason we treat them to be subsequent additions
