[= Apennines] / 284 / Holotypus Cheilosia laticornis Rond. , det. Claussen 1988. CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Cheilosia latifacies Loew, 1857 ( Peck 1988: 107 , Belcari et al. 1995a: 13 ); valid species ( Claussen & Thompson 1996: 279 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1857: 160) described Cheilosia laticornis from a single female: “ Pro unico exemplari foemineo, … capto a D. Bertèo, speciem instituo [from a single female specimen, collected by Mr. Bertè, I described the species”. Claussen & Thompson (1996: 279) reported the holotype ( ) in the MZUF.
