TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂ , syntype (covered with mold, missing right mid-leg) ( MZUF : Box 7): Callicera Mgn / porrii Rnd. , Parma / 367; 1 ♀ ( MSNC : Box DIPTERA Ex collezione Rondani - I): Callicera porrii Rndn. ♀ Parma / Coll. Rondani, scatola n° 4, posiz. D-13 / Museo di Storia Naturale Università di Pisa, Calci ( PI ) ex collezione Rondani. CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Peck 1988: 126 ); junior synonym of Callicera fagesii Guérin-Méneville, 1844 ( Speight 1991: 11 , Belcari et al. 1995a: 13 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1857: 211) described both sexes of Callicera porrii without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens. We found two syntypes in this study. An additional MZUF female numbered “367” from “ Etruria [= Tuscany ]” is not included in the type series because it is not from the type locality.
