TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀ , holotype (distal half of left wing, right fore- and mid-legs glued to a cardboard stage pinned below specimen) ( MZUF : Box 20): Sarcophila Rnd. / impunctata Rnd. / 1047 / holotype Sarcophila impunctata Rnd., T. Pape det., 1986 / Nyctia halterata (Pz) , T. Pape det., 1986. CURRENT STATUS: doubtful species of Paramacronychiinae ( Verves 1986: 122 ) ; junior synonym of Blaesoxipha ( Blaesoxipha ) pygmaea ( Zetterstedt, 1845 ) ( Pape 1988: 9 , 1996: 196 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1868a: 49) described Sarcophila impunctata from a single female: “ Foemina unica a me observata [I observed a single female]”. Pape (1988: 8) reported the holotype in the MZUF.
