TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀ , syntype (covered with mold, abdomen broken) ( MZUF : Box 28): Eggisoneura [ sic !] Rndn. Lucina al. / maculipes Rndn. , ♀ , Sora [= Sora (near Naples)] / 1486, 2 ♂♂ (only one of the two is a syntype but is not labeled as such) (one covered with mold) ( MZUF : Box 28): Eggisoneura [ sic !] Rndn. Lucina al. / maculipes Rndn. , ♂ , fasciata ? Mgn, Irland . [= Ireland ], Pedem. [= Piedmont] / 1486. CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Salticella fasciata (Meigen, 1830) ( Rivosecchi 1992a: 44 , Rozkošný & Elberg 1984: 168 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1868c: 205) described both sexes of Egginoseura maculipes without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ semel marem legi … Exemplar foemineum misit … Garbiglietti … prope Neapolim inventum, et specimen maris a clar. Haliday olim obtinui in Hibernia captum [I collected the male once … Garbiglietti … sent a female specimen found near Naples, and I obtained a male specimen formerly collected in Hibernia (= Ireland ) by Mr. Haliday]”. There are two males labeled “ Irland ., Pedem [= Ireland , Piedmont]” in the MZUF but “ Pedem . [= Piedmont]” is not a type locality. We are unable to single out which male was collected in Piedmont. We leave the recognition of this latter syntype to a future specialist.
