Verbeke det., 1963; 1 ♂ , syntype (missing left wing) ( MZUF : Box 29): Myioscia Rndn. / albicarpa Rnd. , ♂ , Parma / 1535; 2 ♀♀ , syntypes (both missing the left mid-leg) ( MZUF : Box 29): Myioscia Rndn. albicarpa Rnd. / scutellaris Roser , ♀ , Parma / 1535. CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Pherbellia albicarpa ( Rivosecchi 1982: 273 , Rozkošný & Elberg 1984: 171 , Rivosecchi 1992a: 69 , Munari & Rivosecchi 1995: 3 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1868c: 231) described both sexes of Sciomyza albicarpa without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ Uterque sexus … semel inveni [I found both sexes once]”. Jean Verbeke examined the MZUF type material without, as far as we know, publishing any results. We found four syntypes in this study.
