Rondani (
1861g
: 391)
described
Sarcophaga amita
from just the male sex, without specifying either the
number
or the length of the specimens. In his redescription
Rondani (1862d: 122)
specified having had more than
one male
: “
Marem legi
in collibus
, et alium in Apenino
agri parmensis
[I collected the male on hills, and once on the Parmese Apennines]”.
Pape (1988: 6)
designated a
lectotype
(
♂
) and
paralectotypes
(
2 ♂♂
) but did not mention an additional male in the OUMNH and
one male
in the MSNC (both of these additional specimens are
paralectotypes
).
