F-4 / Museo di Storia Naturale Università di Pisa, Calci ( PI ) ex collezione Rondani. CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Elomya lateralis ( Meigen, 1824 ) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 408 ) . REMARKS: Rondani (1861b: 218) described Elomya umbripennis from just the male sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths: “ Foeminas non cognovi, forte ab aliis specierum affinium non distinguendas [I did not know females, perhaps indistinguishable from similar species]”. We found four syntypes in this study.
