Rondani (1859b: 144)
described
Exorista cognata
from just the male sex, without specifying the exact
number
of specimens and not giving a range of lengths: “
Rarissimo lectus mas
[the male collected very rarely]”. We found
four male
syntypes
in this study. Two females numbered “649” in the MZUF are not included in the type series because of their sex.
