REMARKS:
Rondani (1859b: 144)
described
Exorista agnata
from
two males
and
one female
: “
duo mascula tantum
inventa
, et unica foemina
[found only
two males
and
one female
]”. There are
two males
and
one female
in the
MZUF
and
one female
in the
MSNC
: these specimens did not have any label indicating their type status. We are unable to single out the single female upon which Rondani based his description. We leave the recognition of this
syntype
to a future specialist. An additional
two specimens
in the
MZUF
numbered “648” are not included in the type series because their labels are yellowish rather than the greenish color of Rondani’s original handwritten ones and are in a lower row in the Box, for which reason we treat them to be subsequent additions
.
