CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Gaedia connexa ( Meigen, 1824 ) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 252 ) . REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 113) described both sexes of Gedia parmensis without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths, under the generic name Gedia , which is an “unjustified emendation of Gaedia Meigen, 1838 ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 88 ). We found nine syntypes in this study.
