CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 136 , Pape et al. 1995: 17 , Cerretti 2010: 106 , O’Hara & Cerretti 2016: 120 ; O’Hara et al . 2020: 385 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 180) described both sexes of Chetogena acuminata without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths, but presumably from more than one specimen because he indicated: “ non rara [not rare]”. We found eight syntypes in this study.
