Aphritis a Phalacromya ): . CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Copestylum pectorale ( Thompson et al. 1976: 81 ) . REMARKS: Rondani (1863: 3) described both sexes of Volucella pectoralis without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, from material received from V. Ghiliani. Costa (1866: 31) listed two MZUN specimens numbered “611”. We also found two syntypes in this study.
