TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀ , syntype (abdomen in a microvial pinned below specimen) ( MZUF : Box 31): Oxyna Desv. / guttella Rnd., Apenn. [= Apennines] / 1640 / holotype Oxyna guttella Rondani , , det., B. Merz, 1991 /? Paroxina achyrophori (Loew) , det., I.M. White, 1986 . CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Paroxyna achryrophori (Loew, 1869) ( Foote 1984: 113 ) ; valid species, as Campiglossa guttella ( Merz 1994: 45 , Belcari et al. 1995b: 10 , Norrbom et al. 1999: 111 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1870c: 126) described Oxyna guttella from just the female sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ Rarissimo lecta foemina tantum [the female collected only rarely]”. We found one syntype in this study.
