TYPE LOCALITY: “ vel in Liguria vel in Pedemontio [ Liguria as well as Piedmont ( Italy )]” . TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♀♀ , syntypes (one missing fore-, left mid- and hind-legs) ( MZUF : Box 13): Tachina Mgn / brucorum Rnd. / 683. CURRENT STATUS: doubtful species of Exorista ( Adenia ) Robineau-Desvoidy, 1863 ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 133 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 197) described Tachina brucorum from just the female sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, despite there being two specimens in the type series found in this study: “ Foeminam tantum observavi, in collectione Mussino [I observed only the female in Mussino’s collection]”. Giuseppe Mussino collected both in Piedmont and in Liguria . Herting (1969: 191) reported two females in the MZUF; we consider these as syntypes .
