Diagnosis.
Dorsal surface of the body olive green (
Fig. 19 A
). Ventral surface brown with transversal black lines on thorax and abdomen (
Fig. 19 B
). Antennae brown (
Fig. 19 A
). Pronotum with punctures brown (
Fig. 19 A
). Humeral angles short (1,2 times wider than long) (
Fig. 19 A
), apices black (
Fig. 19 A
); humeral angle spot restricted to the angle in dorsal and ventral views (
Fig. 19 A,B
). Scutellum with punctures brown (
Fig. 19 A
); apex not reach the end of corium (
Fig. 19 A
). Corium with all veins concolorous with surface (
Fig. 19 A
). Posterolateral angles of connexivum with apices black (
Fig. 19 A
); connexival segments with concavities slightly covered by small elliptical black spots separated by a yellow median spot (
Fig. 19 A
); spots not extending ventrally (
Fig. 19 B
). Ventral surface. Thorax with black stripes (
Fig. 19 B
); dark stripe of the propleuron covering 2/3 of the width of the sclerite (
Fig. 19 B
). Proepisternum with dark stripe (
Fig. 19 B
). Evaporatorium concolorous with thorax (
Fig. 19 B
). Metasternal process (
Fig. 19 B
) with anterior apex straight and laterally well expanded, margin acuminated; anterior face somewhat excavated; anterior bifurcation receiving fourth rostral segment. Legs brown (
Fig. 19 B
). Abdomen with spine of third segment acuminated (
Fig. 19 B
). Intersegmental areas black, not reaching lateral margin (
Fig. 19 B
). Pseudosutures solid black, wide, margin well-defined (
Fig. 19 B
). Median longitudinal brown band incomplete (
Fig. 19 B
). Trichobotria parallel to the spiracle. Posterolateral angles of segment VII not reaching level of the apices of laterotergites IX in females (
Fig. 19 C
). Female genitalia, laterotergites VIII with dark band on outer lateral margins (
Fig. 19 C
).

Edessa
(
E.
)
schirmeri
Breddin, 1904
: A–B, dorsal and ventral surface of the lectotype; C, genital plates; D, lectotype labels. Scale 1 mm for genitalia and 5 mm for dorsal and ventral surfaces. The photos were taken by Arne K̂ler (SDEI).
Male genitalia:
Unknown.
Female genitalia:
Valvifers VIII with dark punctures; inner margins contiguous and brown; distal margin brown and sinuous. Laterotergites IX with apices acuminate passing the sclerite uniting laterotergites VIII (
Fig. 19 C
).
Comments.
This species resembles
Edessa (E.) electa
and
E. (E.) nigroangulata
but can be separated from them by the more curved backward humeral angle (
Figs. 19 A
,
25 C
,
28 E
), spots on the connexival segments small and elliptical (
Fig. 19 A
), and laterotergites VIII without spots (
Fig. 19 C
). The specimen was examined by photos. The photos were taken by Arne K̂ler (SDEI).
