Diagnosis.
Species with green, red, violet, brown or bluish pigmentation. Eight rows of regular closely paired setae. Absent or membranous septa throughout the body; 7–8 pairs of calciferous glands between segments 7– 13 or 8–14 with a composite, reticulate tubular structure. Holandric and metagynic sexual apparatus with testes in segments 10, 11, and hypo- or periesophageal testis sacs. Short seminal vesicles limited to segments in 11 and 12. Four to six pairs of spermathecae intracoelomic present between segments 6-11.
