Male. In the group VIII key of Borgmeier (1966) , M. oxboroughae keys to M. polyporicola Borgmeier which it differs from by having incredibly short, truncate genitalia ( Fig. 84 ) and much shorter wings (0.88–1.05 mm compared to 1.59 mm).
