New State Record for the Species, Genus, and Family.
Remarks
. This native European species was the only introduced milliped we encountered in the field. While Palisades State Park, Minnehaha Co., is near Sioux Falls and allochthonous species typically predominate in urban areas, Newton Hills is isolated among farmland on the western side of the Big Sioux River; for an introduced species to be prominent in such a place is unusual. Somatic and gonopodal illustrations are available in
Blower (1985)
.
