Type. Amur : Holotype male ( SMTD ). Diagnosis. Elongate, oval; 6.6–7.3 mm (mean = 6.95, n = 7) in length; 3.3–3.8 mm (mean = 3.55, n = 7) in width; derm fuscous; rostrum almost straight from base to antennal insertion, then abruptly arced to apex; distance from base of eye to antennal insertion 1.8 mm in male, 1.5 mm in female; pronotal disc with feeble indication of median lighter color vitta, with two lateral vittae; elytra, with confused fascia of fuscous scales on background of light brown scales; femora with ventral beard of elongate seta­like scales, as long as tooth; metauncus medium with acute apex. Genitalia: Diagram of male aedeagus can be found in Morimoto (1962) . Plant Associations. Fagaceae Morimoto (1960) . Distribution. Amur (river boundry between formerly Manchuria now China and Russia ); Japan ; Korea ; China , Kiautschaun (not found on recent maps of China , but labeled in Faust collection as collected in 1915, collector unknown); Russia , Maritime territories (Ter­Minassian 1956). Remarks. This species closely resembles Curculio beverlyae Pelsue and Zhang (2000 a ) . Can be separated from that species by aedeagus, ventral beard on profemur, medium­sized acute metauncus and distance from base of male eye to antennal insertion of 1.8 mm compared with 1.5 mm in C. beverlyae .
