This species occurs with multiple hosts including numerous rodent taxa of the genera
Marmota

Ochotona

Distribution.
Northern and Central Palaearctic. This species is known from Eastern Europe (as
Haemogamasus bregetovae
Mrciak
; see Mašán & Fend’a, 2010), Caucasus (
Lopatina
et al
., 1991
), and the
Liaoning Province
of
China
(
Li, 1991
). According to distributional data collected by
Nikulina (2004)
, this mite is almost ubiquitous in Asiatic
Russia
, including the extreme north latitudes (Wrangel Island, lower course of the Kolhyma River).
