Distribution in North China . Primarily in the Yanshan mountains, the loess plateau and the Qinling mountains. Abundant at low to medium elevations of the Yanshan mountains in Beijing and northern Hebei, and at medium elevations of the Qinling mountains in southeastern Gansu and southern Shaanxi. Common at medium elevations of the loess plateau in eastern Gansu and central Shaanxi. Rare at low to medium elevations of the Zhongtiaoshan mountains in southernmost Shanxi, and at high elevations of the edge of the east Qinghai-Tibetan plateau in Gansu. 135 localities ( Fig. 120 ) between 134–3432 m (IAB). Similar species in North China . This species is similar in its red-tailed colour pattern to B. koreanus (see the key; Figs 39 , 121 ). Distribution in China .
